Pilot tests are an important step in developing processes. Montz can supply internals for pilot and miniplant systems which guarantee a safe scale-up from the smallest size to industrial plants.

Montz structured packings for pilot and miniplant systems are specially optimised for column diameters from 20 mm and have a specific surface of 500 m2/m3 to 2000 m2/m3. They achieve a uniform high separation efficiency at a low pressure drop and their structured arrangement enables the results obtained in the pilot stage to be safely transferred to later production plants.

Tray constructions are preferably used for contaminating and segregating systems or reaction columns with longer dwell times. Montz can offer constructive solutions for mass transfer trays from a column diameter of 40 mm. The internals used are subjected to a funtional test with air and water before delivery.

Miniplant column
Miniplant columns with variable feed and outlet points are needed to optimise the process. This facilitates the determination of the fractionating task. Montz Miniplant columns display the necessary flexibility.

Apart from conventional Miniplant columns, Montz also offers Miniplant divided wall columns. The internals are designed for divided wall columns of glass and metal. Montz helps you with their construction know-how when scaling-up to production scale plants.
