The Julius Montz Company Today, it is a very modern industrial enterprise with agencies
and licensees world-wide but at the beginning of this century
it was a small copper-smith’s shop.
A future-orientating research and a continuos development of the
existing range of services offered that’s what distinguished the
JULIUS MONTZ Company through decades as a creative and innovative
enterprise. Our History Today, the company is regarded to be one of the leading specialists
in the field of thermal fractionating technology offering a wide
range of services and products. In 1911, when the JULIUS MONTZ
Company was founded in Hilden as a copper-smith’s shop nobody
would have thought what would come of it and yet the direction
of development was already clear: the chemical industry on Rhine
and Wupper as well as the coking plants on the Ruhr counted already
among our most important customers, Apparatus and vessels were
manufactured for them. Within the course of the years the co-operation
with the chemical industry became closer and more intensive.
An innovative enterprise with long tradition
This, in the fifties, led to an intensified specialisation in
the field of distillation technology. With own developments and
patents, JULIUS MONTZ company became an expert and innovative
specialist in this field. In order to improve the economic competitiveness,
the JULIUS MONTZ company in 1972 affiliated with F.A. Neuman of
Eschweiler as a wholly owned subsidiary.
MONTZ Development
A steady development of existing technology and apparatus led
to an always improving and wider range of products. Above all,
this included the development of special equipment for the distillation
technology. This created the basis today’s product program: it
includes tunnel trays (systems ?Streuber“ and ?Thormann“), cross
flow trays Type KSG, KLOSS-packings, spring columns and structured
packings as well as columns and apparatus made of high quality
materials such as Hastelloy, Titanium and stainless steel. These
very efficient MONTZ products found an ever increasing interest
in the world-wide market. The resulting orientation towards export
led to a co-operation with international partners and licensing
for the MONTZ products in Brazil, Japan and the USA. In the eighties,
the range offered was expanded by a new and important field: with
the introduction of computer equipment of the latest state of
art together with adequate software the engineering services for
the process- and plant technology could be extended. Apart from
excellent products expert and all-round engineering services can
thus be expected from JULIUS MONTZ. That’s why in it’s field,
the MONTZcompany has obtained a leading position: it disposes
of a comprehensive and efficient range of products and services,
it carries out an intensive research and development of products
of international interest and on account of is creative and individual
offer of services it will always be a competent and innovative
partner for you as our customer.
