Liquid catchers are positioned between two packing sections:

The sprinkling liquid from the top packing bed is collected by the liquid catcher tray and is redirected from here to a distribution tray to feed the bottom packing bed

In the vicinity of the catcher tray it is possible to provide feed-ins of liquid streams and lateral vents for steam and liquids.
